What you need to know about our rank system...
Our rank system is not a military styled system, but a community styled system.
Once an applicant is accepted into SØT, they're given the rank of Recruit for approximately two weeks. After this period, the Recruit is promoted to the rank of Member. There is then a possibility of being promoted to a higher rank later on.
Getting promoted isn't just ranking up, but it's the taking on of greater responsibility in the clan. By accepting the responsibility of becoming a Server Admin, Officer, or Staff Member, a Member is agreeing to no longer be a typical clan member/teammate, but they're agreeing to:
- become an even friendlier and helpful clan member
- keep and enforce the Clan Rules at all times
- and to welcome, introduce, and guide new members in the clan.
However, these aren't roles that all members will eventually get to play...
Members will be approached by a Staff Member for a promotion only if they have shown great dedication to SØT, are diligent to maintain all the Clan Rules, constantly display a mature attitude towards their gaming and conversation, and are noticed among the other members as being a positive and respectable clan member. I say “approached” as I know that not all members wish to have the responsibility of being an Admin. Members approached by a Staff Member have the opportunity to say “yes” to the new responsibility, and move forward with the required procedures, or to say “no” and continue in our clan as a regular Member.
A member who declines the offer of a promotion will not be treated any less than they were before.
Ranks
Staff Member [SM] - All privileges of an Officer; Has a higher dominance in their promotion vote (equal to two(2) votes); Able to edit group members; Has the responsibility of monitoring the forums (excluding the Web Links section and Information Topic).
Officer [OF] - All privileges of a Server Admin; Has Ventrilo Admin rights; Has a higher dominance in their Recruit acceptance vote (equal to two(2) votes); Has a vote in promotions; Has the responsibility of monitoring the General Chat section of the forums.
Officer In Training [OFT] - All privileges of a Server Admin; Training to become an Officer.
Server Admin [SA] – Has gaming servers' Rcon/Admin responsibilities (does NOT include Ventrilo); Has an Admin vote when voting for applicants.
Server Admin in Training [SAT] - Training to become a Server Admin; Does NOT have Rcon/Admin rights.
Member - Officially apart of the clan; Required to keep and enforce all Clan rules; Able to vote on applicant acceptance.
Recruit [Rec] – Assigned to accepted applicants; Required to keep and enforce all Clan rules. This rank will be in effect for approximately two weeks. After this period (depending on the Recruit's activity), the Recruit is promoted to the rank of Member.
